At 10.52 hours on 6 May, 1941, the Oakdene (Master Ernest Hart), dispersed from convoy OG-59, was hit by one torpedo from U-105 and sank northwest of St. Paul Rocks. The master, 31 crew members and three gunners were picked up by the HMS Dorsetshire (40) (Capt B.S.C. Martin).
