At 14.10 hours on 14 Sep 1942 the unescorted Harborough (Master Frank Norman Hibbert) was hit by one torpedo from U-515 40 miles east of Galera Point, Trinidad. 15 minutes later the U-boat opened fire with her 105mm deck gun and 37mm AA gun. The ship caught fire and sank later. Two crew members and three gunners were lost. The master, 38 crew members, five gunners and one passenger landed at Prembroke Beach, Tobago.
