This vessel was part of a group of 28 Patrol Crafts which took part in several convoy escorting duties under Fourth Fleet based at Recife Brazil. She rescued three survivors from the Dutch passenger ship Zaandam which was sunk by U-174 on 2/Nov/42 some 300 miles off Natal, Brazil and landed them at Recife where they were hospitalized for six weeks
