On 12 December 1942 Italian submarine Enrico Tazzoli  intercepted and sank the 5,658t. Dutch ship OMBILIN. Built in 1916 by the Nederlanssche Dok Maatschappij, of Amsterdam, the ship belonged to Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatschappij, a Dutch company based in Java. The location of the sinking was given at 07º 25"N 39º 19"W. Of the crewmembers, 79 were rescued, while 2 were taken prisoner.
