Built: 1922

Tonnage: 5,084 / 7,535 tons

Cargo: Coal

Sunk 25/03/41 by Raider Thor in the South Atlantic waters.

Position is not given however it suggests that the sinking occurred in the vicinities where liner Britannia was sunk in that same day on pos 09º 02”N 27º 03”W

Several hours after leaving the scene of the sinking of theBritish ship Britannia, Thor fired a warning shot across the bows of a freighter which stopped without transmitting. Identified by the boarding party as the 5,047-ton  Amerika Svenska-Mexiko line motor vessel, Trolleholm, an inspection revealed that although Swedish and neutral, she was carrying a cargo of coal from Newcastle to Port Said, via Cape Town, under charter to the British Admiralty. From the moment the warning shot was fired across her bow, to all thirty-one members of her crew being safely onboard the raider, no more than 90 minutes has elapsed, and the ‘neutral’ freighter was scuttled with demolition charges.
