HMS Busy and other 8 Tug boats were built at Gulfport Shipbuilding, Port Arthur Texas for the Royal Navy.


On 24 Sep 42 HMS Busy while based at Trinidad along with HMS Zwarte Zee rescued all 42 survivors of US Merchant Antinous which was sunk by U-512  in pos. 09º 22'N  60º 09'W and landed them at Port of Spain on 26 September.
