Friday, 22nd May

W.S. 19 United Kingdom to Middle East to India ("Winston's Specials") (16 ships) arrived, escorted by MAURITIUS, CARNARVON CASTLE, WILD SWAN, BOREAS, VELOX, BELVOIR and HURSLEY. WIVERN and COMMANDANT DROGOU sailed for Bathurst and AMARANTHUS for St. Vincent. ACASTA (Norwegian S.S.) and MILFORD arrived at Bathurst.


Saturday, 30th May

O.S. 28 Liverpool to Freetown (10 ships) arrived in two sections on 30th and 31st May, escorted by WESTON, WELLINGTON, GORLESTON, TOTLAND, and WOODRUFF (fast portion); and WIVERN, AMARANTHUS and COMMANDANT DROGOU (slow portion).


Thursday, 9th July

AMARANTHUS sailed from Takoradi for Pointe Noire and the Cape.


Sunday, 27th September

AMARANTHUS left Capetown for Freetown via Pointe Noire escorting ROBERTS.


Friday, 9th October

ROBERTS and AMARANTHUS joined convoy T.S. 21, Takoradi to Freetown subsequently AMARANTHUS parted company to proceed to Takoradi.


Saturday, 10th October

AMARANTHUS arrived Takoradi. 


Friday, 16th October

AMARANTHUS arrived Lagos escorting NORVIC.


Spanish S.S. MANU boarded by AMARANTHUS in position 03-48N, 03-30W. Ship's papers were found to be in order.


Monday, 19th October

AMARANTHUS and COMMANDANT D'ESTIENNE D'ORVES sailed Takoradi for Freetown.


Saturday, 24th October

AMARANTHUS arrived from Lagos and SIRIUS sailed for Freetown.


Sunday, 25th October

AMARANTHUS sailed from Pointe Noire to join Convoy W.S. 23. United Kingdom to Middle East to India ("Winston's Specials")


Monday, 2nd November

H.M. Ships SHROPSHIRE, HECLA, ARROW, ACTIVE, AMARANTHUS, and SOUTHERN PRIDE arrived Freetown with C.F. 7 Capetown to W. Africa and United Kingdom (4 ships).


Monday, 9th November

H.M. Ships AMARANTHUS and ASTURIAS sailed Freetown on patrol.


Tuesday, 24th November

H.M.S. AMARANTHUS arrived Freetown.
