In 1944 Brazilian Air Force FAB, received the first 5 C-47 which would be soon incorporated to the legendary Military Air Mail. With more capacity in their cargo compartments these superb aircrafts gave a decisive thrust to strengthening of the Military Air Mail and paid an overwhelming role in the integration of the distant Amazon region. Brazilian Air Force operated 82 of these unequalled aircrafts until late 70’s.

Interior of one C-47 in a transport configuration. They were vital as cargo planes in supplying allied troops in the inhospitable CBI - China Burma India Theater, in the Normandy invasion and in securing the lifeline of the beleaguered British Army in North African campaign.
